MANAGING OPTOMETRIST

Kelly Wu

Meet Dr. Kelly Wu, the Managing Optometrist and co-founder of my2020 Optometrists. With over a decade of experience in optometry, Kelly is a trusted expert in eye care, having worked alongside ophthalmologists in the treatment of glaucoma, macular degeneration, refractive LASIK surgery, and retinal detachment. She has developed a strong passion for paediatric vision care and is one of the first optometrists to be registered under the Paediatric Alignment Program at the Children’s Hospital in Queensland. Kelly is also highly skilled in the management and treatment of dry eye with IPL and Blephasteam, ensuring comprehensive and personalized care for all her patients.

Fluent in English, Mandarin, and Taiwanese, Kelly ensures clear communication and excellent care for a diverse range of patients. She leads a team of highly skilled optometrists across all my2020 practices, offering a variety of services from routine eye exams to advanced treatments like myopia control. Whether it’s addressing complex ocular health needs or helping children achieve optimal vision, Kelly’s expertise and dedication make her a trusted name in the field of optometry.

Outside of her professional life, Kelly enjoys discovering new restaurants, spending quality time with family and friends, and exploring vibrant cities with beautiful beaches. Her continuous commitment to advancing her knowledge and skills in optometry ensures that her patients receive the best care available.

OPTOMETRIST

Brian Toh

Brian graduated with a Bachelor of Vision Science and a Master of Optometry in 2018 with Distinction. In his early career, Brian worked in regional Queensland which provided him with invaluable experience in ocular therapeutics. With strong interests in both paediatric eye care and age-related eye diseases, Brian’s expertise lies in providing excellent eye care tailored to the individual.

Brian has extensive experience in myopia control, orthokeratology lenses, and using state of the art equipment to monitor and treat sight-threatening eye conditions such as glaucoma and macular degeneration.With the rapid rise in dry eye disease and digital eyestrain, Brian also provides specialised treatment with intense-pulsed light (IPL) therapy and meibomian gland expression with Blephasteam.

Brian consults in Mandarin, Cantonese and English.
Outside of work, Brian enjoys spending time with his family and two dogs. He enjoys cooking, gaming, model making and movies.

OPTOMETRIST

Yiming Xu

Yiming is an optometrist here at my2020. Prior to graduating with a Bachelor of Vision Science/Master of Optometry with Distinction in 2023, she gained valuable experience working with ophthalmologists in various sub-specialities such as cataract, medical retina and ocular oncology.

Here at my2020, optometry is more than meets the eye. Yiming is able to deliver a comprehensive scope of practice incorporating orthokeratology, dry eye treatment and management of eye diseases like glaucoma with state of the art technology such as optical coherence tomography.

Myopia control is close to her heart, as she has experienced first-hand as a child the life-changing impacts of being able to see clearly without the need for glasses! This was all thanks to the Ortho-K lenses fitted by her optometrist. With the extensive research and treatment options available for myopia, she considers it a privilege to be able to help the next generation in preventing childhood myopia and the associated sight-threatening pathologies.

Yiming is a member of the Orthokeratology Society of Oceania and an aligned optometrist with the Queensland Children’s Hospital. Outside of work, she enjoys trying out new brunch cafes with friends or challenging herself with hikes in the Sunshine Coast.

Vincent Le

Vincent is a graduate from QUT (2020) and a passionate optometrist here at my2020 Optometrists. He has gained valuable experience working with a wide range of patients, from managing children's vision development to caring for adults with eye conditions like macular degeneration and glaucoma.

Vincent's true passion lies in working with kids to ensure they can grow and navigate the world with healthy vision as well as helping patients experience the freedom and convenience of contact lenses through personalised fittings. But what he loves most about optometry is getting to know each and every one of you in our community.

At my2020, Vincent feels lucky to be part of a fantastic team dedicated to providing exceptional care. We work together to create personalised vision and eye health plans for all our patients.

His goal is to ensure you feel listened to, leave our practice feeling confident about your eye health, and equipped with the knowledge to care for your eyes.
